opening the throat

Kale! the new Kleenex!

Yesterday I spent the afternoon with a beautiful ball of light and joy and superfood wizardry....  enlightenment struck as a friend, naturally-- needing to clear the phlegm-- blew his nose into a big supple leaf of dinosaur kale... yes! God!

being a woman:

i love you
i love you
i love you
now i love yam

(inspired by Gary Snyder, always-- thank you!)

Oh, Anais!

the beauty is...
when my hope to
surrender
climbs through
my flesh,
and i see my neck snapped
in half and
a throat  silenced
my breasts loved and
willow leaves
binding my wrists --
I walk into the garden
shovel compost and
weed. and weed.
and like magic
all is fertile
and whole

Yes! A bra is ironic!

December 4, 2011

awoke to a lynching

...
soft articulations:
these textures
curl up
to  the hour
like lovers
like bodies
within bodies--
my skeleton
softening
my sinew
slips unto the floor:
throat to thighs
thighs to ears
like curving
I am
here
to be folded
into the floor
unto the floor
softening:
one long rope

Keith Puccinelli

Forbidden (Photo) Segment from Puccinelli's Mural in the Atkinson Gallery.....

"Puccinelity" Received!
Local artist Keith Puccinelli's exhibit in the Atkinson Gallery is a scrumptious offering of  baroque aesthetics, beeswax-inspired somatics, humor,  and death! I loved the gamut of  common materials (wax, twigs, ink, cotton) used--and with  such an intimate ( and friendly) sense of irony.... thank you!
